We are pleased to announce the November Member of the Month is Josiah Carminati! Josiah epitomizes hard work and determination. Though he is new to CFTBL, he has shown the incredible results that come from relentless training and never giving less than 100%. From all of us at CFTBL, Congrats, and keep it up! What is your biggest accomplishment thus far? Thanks to the encouragement from Coach Sarah, I’ve made a 245lb OHS PR which was something I wouldn’t have dreamed of a year ago. What do you do when you’re not at the box? Your profession? I love […]
Let’s face it, there’s only so much Paleo you can take before you finally break down and start to crave dessert. Specifically CHOCOLATE. Maybe cookies, maybe cake, ANYTHING that will satisfy your sweet tooth, even if it’s only for a few brief moments before you get back on the Paleo wagon again. The good news is, there are tons of Paleo approved desserts out there. In fact, more and more Paleo blogs and websites are popping up all over the place with some pretty awesome dessert items, and some can get really crazy.
What my attempt to do over the past few years of this Paleo journey was just to find some simple Paleo chocolate chip cookies. Nothing fancy, just an easy recipe for yummy treat. As you may know when you deal with Paleo ingredients for baking, the most popular ingredients are either almond flour, or coconut flour. Two very different flours, (which I learned quite quickly) that really either make or break a certain recipe depending on how you follow it. After many months (and lots of trial and error), I finally found a recipe for what I think are the ultimate Paleo chocolate chip cookies. This is not only the best Paleo cookie I have tried, it’s also the easiest recipe. How can you beat that? Check it out, and I promise you will bookmark this site and be back for more..very soon.
Congratulations to CFTBL member Liz Lazo on the birth of her son, Solomon Singh. Solomon arrived on October 21, 2014. Mom and baby are doing great! Little Solomon is already back squatting, and Liz is already talking about when she will be back at the box! From everyone at CFTBL, CONGRATULATIONS!
This Thursday’s (10/23) 4:45pm class will be a special “Wedding WOD” for one of our members, Anastasia who is getting married this coming weekend! Come join us for a fun WOD, as we congratulate Stasia! See you there!
We are excited to announce the Member of the Month for October is: Liz Lazo! As many of you already know, Liz is expecting and due to have her baby in just days. Since the very beginning of her pregnancy Liz has never stopped attending classes and never let her pregnancy slow her down. Despite the summer heat, the challenging WOD’s and the time she continued to put aside for CrossFit is pretty incredible. Not many women who are as far into their pregnancy as Liz is, continues to work out, let alone do CrossFit. From the entire CFTBL community, we would like […]

We are looking forward to having open gym every Sunday morning going forward, from 9:00am-11:00am. This is a great time to work on goats, improve your strength, prepare for upcoming competitions, and everything else in between. Take advantage of this time to make yourselves even better athletes!
This Friday (10/3) at 4:45pm we will be doing a special WOD in honor of our friend and CFTBL athlete Cory Fullana. Cory will be leaving us for one year to serve in the US Army in England.
We’ll have a great fun WOD led by Cory himself! After, we will have some beverages and food so everybody bring your best paleo dish or at least something healthy….or not so healthy! It will be a great send off to a great guy who is always the most supportive team player we could ever ask for. Hope to see you all there!
On behalf of the entire CFTBL family, we would like to send our warmest congratulations to Coach Matt Wheeler and his wife Amber on the birth of their son Rylan Wayne Wheeler. Pictures to follow.
Bulletproof Coffee: What is it? Why drink it? Bulletproof coffee: sounds a bit odd, right? Have you ever heard of this strange new way to drink your morning cup of joe? I have, and to be honest once I read the ingredients for the first time I kind of put this whole idea on the back burner. I really was not into dumping butter and oil into something I was about to drink first thing in the morning. I mean, let’s be honest here: I am already giving up my creamer and splenda for the Paleo diet, I was […]
