Come learn self-defense based in the art of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu at Connecticutʼs only Team Pedro Sauer affiliate school. Gracie Jiu-Jitsu is an art consisting of joint locks, breaks, holds and escapes where size, age, strength and flexibility are secondary to technique and leverage.
At the Manchester Bushido Jiu-Jitsu Academy you will learn a system of self-defense from instructors that have used these techniques in real life situations. Our owners and instructors work or have worked in law enforcement, corrections and the military, including teaching at academy and post academy levels.
During the course of four weeks you will learn physical self-defense techniques. In addition, you will learn incredibly valuable lessons including:
The physiological changes your body will go through in a confrontation (this information alone can save your life).
Legal aspects of defending yourself – when you may use the tools you learn.
How to identify and avoid potentially dangerous situations.
How to not be a target for a predator.
How to behave and what to say BEFORE a confrontation turns physical.
What to do AFTER you have had an encounter with an assaultive/predatory person.
Dates: March 14th, 21st, 28th and April 4th.
Time: 7:00pm – 9:00pm
Cost : $99
Location: Bushido Jiu-Jitsu Academy – Manchester, CT
NOTE: This is a womenʼs ONLY class. Also, we are planning on having guest instructors in to discuss a number of situations. Some of these individuals will have no choice but to be fairly graphic in their lectures. For that reason we are setting a minimum age for this program at 16 years old. The academy will also be setting class numbers at a minimum of 15 and maximum of 30 students.
