March Athlete Couple of the Month – Ashley & James!

We are so excited to announce that for the month of March we are introducing our first Athlete “Couple of the Month” and the spotlight is on Ashley Elliot and James Podrebartz! To say that this fit couple have been working hard would be an understatement to say the least. Ashley and James have basically transformed their bodies over the course of the last few months alone. They both are true examples of what hard work, a clean healthy diet, and dedicated training can accomplish. Congratulations to both Ashley and James, the CFTBL family is so proud of you! You two are truly motivating! Here is a little bit more from Ashley and James…

Ashley:
What is your biggest CrossFit accomplishment thus far?
Knowing how far I’ve come since my very first CrossFit class in June.

What do you do when you’re not at the box? Your profession?
I just started a new job as Marketing Assistant at Fuss & O’Neill and work a couple days a week at Bonefish Grill. I also love skiing, basically anything outdoors when it’s nice out, RI in the summer, and spoiling our pittys Willow and Dozer.

What makes you come in and train on days you don’t want to?
My achievements over the last couple months. I feel like I’ve only scratched the surface.

Give us one word to describe your experience at CFTBL.
Inspirational

BONUS QUESTION FOR OUR COUPLE: What accomplishment are you most proud of one another for achieving with CrossFit?
James has definitely improved all around, especially his mobility! I also think James’s performance in 16.1 is a testament of how much potential he really has.

Favorite WOD/movement?
I’m pretty stoked about rope climbs at the moment. I’ve never been able to rope climb my entire life.

Least favorite WOD/movement?
Forever burpees

Favorite meal after a hard WOD?
Bison burger from Ted’s! (no bun and all that Paleo jazz of course)

You are stranded on an island, what one piece of exercise equipment do you have?
Kettle Bell

James:

What is your biggest CrossFit accomplishment thus far?
I feel like my biggest accomplishment so far would have to be how much my endurance has gone up since the first day and how I am able to complete and surpass my goals for wods. When 9 months ago i didn’t think would be possible.

What do you do when you’re not at the box?
When i’m not at the box I enjoy being outdoors hiking, snowboarding, riding my ATV, working on cars, making delicious meat in my smoker and spending time with my two pits dozer and willow.

Your profession?
My profession is a auto tech for chrysler Dodge Jeep for over 10 years  at the same dealership. CTBL keeps me sane after a long day of working on cars.

What makes you come in and train on days you don’t want to?
What makes me come in on days I don’t want to is knowing that I always feel better after a work out. When I see other members working so hard it motivates me to want to be right there with them.

Give us one word to describe your experience at CFTBL.
Its hard to put my experience into one word but it would be motivating.

I am most proud of Ashley for how far she has come from when we started she always give 100% and has shown me another side to her. From seeing her make her first rope climb to having new PRs almost every week lately and sticking with the clean eating. She has continued to amaze me with her progress and motivation to work hard. I’m  a lucky guy.

You are stranded on an island, what one piece of exercise equipment do you have?
If i was stranded on a island with one piece of exercise equipment i would choose a jump rope because then i would have no choice but to get good a double unders.
